LG Earnings Break Records 3,21 Trillion -LG has recently announced the results of its sales in the 1st quarter of 2013. The rate of profit to sales LG TVs fell 22 percent from a year ago. Operating profit derived from television sales fell to 350 billion won (Rp.3.04 trillion), whereas in the same quarter in 2012, their profit reached 448 billion won (Rp. $ 3.9 trillion).

Although LG did not expect any improvement of the overall TV market in the near future, they expect improvement in this year gained from the launch of smart TVs and 4K 3D TV.

The good news, sales of smartphones from the South Korean electronics giant is quite healthy, thanks to Optimus G, G Pro, L Series and Nexus 4. LG Mobile Revenue reached 3.21 trillion won (Rp.27.9 trilion), with smartphone shipments reached 10.3 million units, a 28.5 percent increase compared to the 1st quarter of 2012.

The figure also broke the highest record since LG began to enter into the smartphone business. Profit gained almost 4-fold compared to Q1 2012, to 133 billion won (U.S. $ 1.16 trillion). LG estimates further increase sales in the 2nd quarter, with the global launch of the Optimus L SeriesII, G and F Pro Series.
