Windows 8 Tablet Earn 7.5 Percent Market Share  -Latest news mentioning that Windows Tablet now has begun to pick up and has gained share to 7.5 percent. Based on a report from Strategy Analytics, tablet-based Windows 8 tablets start to affect the overall share. Windows 8-based tablet is able to achieve a share of 7.5%, or about 3 million units a year although it has not been introduced to the public.

Share of the tablet is still dominated by iOS and Android. Android tablet share increased 9% over the same period last year of 34% to 43%. Android tablet is able to sell up to 17 million units in Q1 2013, up dramatically from just 6.4 million units in Q1 2012. While the tablet Apple loses 15% share in the past year despite being able to increase the number of shipments of 11.8 million units in the first quarter of 2012 to 19.5 million units in the first quarter of 2013.
Strategy Analytics also said that Microsoft could actually achieve a greater share in the tablet market, if only Surface introduced more quickly and there are no supply constraints. The new Microsoft Surface Pro will launch in 25 countries in the near future, including Singapore, Malaysia, England, Germany, and France.
